Atlas RFID Solutions
Technology
increase velocity, spark innovation
Local technology company hired KEYSYS to assist in the new feature development on a mobile & web application
CLIENT:
Atlas RFID Solutions develop and implement auto-ID based systems throughout the world on over 650 sites, spanning 25 countries on 6 continents.
Their Custom Solutions division utilizes the best RFID, barcode, and GPS technologies to develop custom software creating integrated solutions for clients based upon their individual needs.
PROBLEM:
Atlas RFID Solutions desired to increase the velocity of Jovix’s mobile and web applications development.
Jovix’s web application, mobile devices, smart RFID tags, and barcode labels automate manual data collection for industrial construction.
Atlas RFID Solutions engaged KEYSYS to help with:
- New feature development
- Critical issue resolution
- Application performance tuning
KEYSYS’s past experience and familiarity with Atlas RFID Solutions’ systems, processes, and teams made project engagement easier, more efficient, and effective.
APPROACH:
KEYSYS’s in-depth experience in .NET backend development and single-page application frontend development, combined with a familiarity with the Jovix product, allowed KEYSYS to quickly become productive as part of the in-house Atlas RFID development teams.
OUTCOME:
KEYSYS built a new microservice to keep a ledger-like record of rapidly changing inventory quantities on construction sites.
This service also includes the ability for users to easily create custom formulas using the inventory data to enable better reporting that is specific to different customers’ needs.
The native mobile applications for both Android and iOS required updating to maintain compliance with their respective AppStore requirements. KEYSYS developers upgraded libraries and controls to ensure new versions of the application can be published to the AppStores.
KEYSYS was also able to leverage some of its more specialized knowledge in the areas of memory and performance profiling to quickly identify and resolve critical bugs and performance issues both in server-side C# code and frontend TypeScript code.
Enhancements include
- Improving the speed and resiliency of large data downloads
- Fixing memory leaks that caused application crashes
- Optimized database connection pooling to service more users and larger datasets
IMPACT:
Atlas RFID is pleased with the additional amount of feature development afforded by the augmentation of their teams with KEYSYS developers.
The new quantity microservice and related web application feature set provide a superior user experience while solving a major problem for Atlas RFID’s customers, adding significant value to the product.
In addition to resolving several critical issues, KEYSYS was also able to provide training on memory and performance profiling to Atlas RFID developers that previously had little or no experience.
