CLIENT:

EBS is a marketing, consulting and services firm headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Since 1998 they have specialized in the placement of Bank and Corporate owned life insurance programs.

The EBS team of financial representatives implement and support these programs on a daily basis. To ensure coordinated service delivery their team works across five offices around the country.

PROBLEM:

As EBS has grown so has their data. All representatives collect and report their data through Excel. This led to each client report gathering input from a multitude of people. The process has become laborious and vulnerable to unnecessary risks and redundancies.

MIYUKI MARRIOTT

Senior Software Engineer @ KEYSYS

SPECIALTIES

  • C#
  • SQL Server

PROBLEM SOLVER:

Miyuki came to KEYSYS with a passion for database and backend system management. Her specialties in application development along with her extensive experience in large and medium sized businesses made her a perfect fit for the KEYSYS team. Through her experience she is able to understand the type of issues and challenges that these organizations face when dealing with massive amounts of data.

ENGAGEMENT:

To solve EBS’ issue, Miyuki helped build a web based portal and reporting system to house all EBS’ data within a central database. This central location now holds all the data previously housed across Excel files.  The addition of a portal allows users to upload new data and generate reports that can be printed and distributed in a multitude of ways.

Power BI is used for Ad Hoc reporting and data analytics.

This change has helped EBS save time and improve efficiency. The solution has transformed their data into an integral component of their overall decision support system.
