I’ve never been a car person. As long as a car can transport me safely from point A to point B, I’m content. My lack of interest in cars has resulted in a few instances when weird noises or flashing lights have sent me to the depths of the dark web and back, always concluding that my car must have terminal cancer with only 2 weeks left live. Luckily for me, I work with a few tech gurus who also double as automobile experts and they not only know everything there is to know about cars but also have cool tools to fix them.
This week, my car was momentarily in great health, but that didn’t stop the team from finding a reason to get out their gadgets yet again. “Your headlights need some work!” they said. Before I could object, a full-fledged operation was taking place on my Honda, and the parking lot party didn’t end with my car. Next was Jarick’s, then Blake’s… until about every dingy headlight had been polished and waxed to perfection. While this was a great break in the middle of my Thursday, we all appreciated the gesture for much more than sparkling headlights. You won’t find the president of most companies leading the charge to randomly re-finish all the headlights in the parking lot, but that’s just one of the many perks to working at KEYSYS. After graduation, I chose KEYSYS because I felt the sense of teamwork and family spirit they had to offer, whether it is developing great software for our clients or taking care of one another in the office. It’s moments like these that remind me I made the right decision.
