Case Morton: 10 Years at KEYSYS

by

“10 years goes by pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

How it started:

It all began in 2013 when I met JB in a small entrepreneurs’ group. Fast friends, we bonded over our shared passion for technology and creative problem-solving.

One day, JB mentioned a project where he could use my design expertise and I came in to work with KEYSYS. What started as a single project quickly snowballed into more, until JB proposed the idea of joining KEYSYS full-time. Without hesitation, I said “Yes!” and became the company’s first Creative Director.

Looking back, this decision, though unplanned, turned out to be the best thing for me. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of offering technology design and guidance to numerous clients across diverse industries. This journey has allowed me to refine the process of solving business problems by designing custom software experiences, a process that I find really satisfying.

As my role evolved, I transitioned from Creative Director to Chief Experience Officer. In this capacity, I now concentrate on enhancing our clients’ complete experience, from the design to the delivery of our solutions and the overall KEYSYS Customer Experience.

What I do:

For new clients seeking custom software solutions, their first stop at KEYSYS is now with me in our Live UI sessions.

During these Live UI sessions, I collaboratively design with clients through their ideal customer experience.

In this done-with-you design process clients are able to see their ideas come to life in real-time and make immediate decisions.

These interactive sessions, conducted over video calls, are similar to watching an episode of Bob Ross, where the audience helps decide what color tree should be painted by the lake.

The Live UI sessions have allowed us to improve the custom software development process. By the end of these sessions, we have clear screens and requirements that clients have actively participated in designing.

This enables our developers to provide more precise time and cost estimates, ultimately improving the end product.

Memorable Moment:

10 years has given me a lot of memorable moments but above all I remember, when we decided to smash a bunch of old printers with a sledgehammer in the parking lot.

That was a great random Thursday afternoon.

To Celebrate:

This 10 year milestone, JB presented me with a Martin acoustic guitar. Engraved in the headstock is a custom plate to commemorate the lasting impact KEYSYS has had on my life and family over a decade.

Over these past 10 years, I’ve been with this company through every season of life and business. Just as I’ve grown personally, so has the business. Being a part of a team like this is a truly special experience, and I’m thrilled to continue being a part of it.

To JB & Jarick, thank you for all you’ve done for me. I look forward to what comes next together.
